Liver Love: for children between the ages of 8 and 15 years, Liver Love may be taken at a dose of ½ -1 capsule per day. The lower the weight of the child, the smaller the dose needs to be. The capsules contain ground up foods and herbs (in a powder form) so to give half a capsule, it can be opened and the powder added to water, a fresh veggie juice or smoothie. Teenagers 15 years and over may have the adult dose of Liver Love, provided they weigh 40kg or more. To start an older teenager on Liver Love at the adult dose, begin with 1 capsule per day, with breakfast. After 3-4 days on 1 capsule per day, give the second capsule at afternoon tea time (now at a dose of 2 capsules per day). After a week of this, add the third capsule. Ideally when they are at the dose of 1 capsule 3 times per day, they are given with each main meal.

Meno Magic: is (obviously) not suitable for children.

Organic Zinc Extract: children aged 4-8 years may take ½ capsule per day and children aged 9-13 years may take ½ or 1 capsule per day. Teenagers 14 years and above may take the adult dose of 1 capsule per day.

Organic Daily Greens & Radiant Reds: a wonderful nutritional support for children from age 3 and over, as well as teenagers. Always start young children on ½ teaspoon for 3-4 days to ensure tolerance. Increase to 1 teaspoon per day if desired after this time, or keep young children on the smaller dose.

Skin Nutrition: for teenagers aged 14 years and above, Skin Nutrition may be taken at the adult dose. For younger children, please consult a healthcare professional to advise if this product is suitable.

Yes. All of our products are free from animal products of any kind. Organic Daily Greens & Radiant Reds is a powder. All other Bio Blends products are encapsulated in vegetable capsules, which do not contain gelatine and are certified by the vegetarian society.

No. All of our products have been independently tested and are gluten free.

Pure wheat grass and barley grass (just the grass, with absolutely no seeds) do not contain gluten. The type of gluten that causes reactions in individuals with coeliac disease or gluten sensitivity occurs in the grains, i.e., the seeds produced by the wheat and barley grass plants. None of the ingredients used in any Bio Blends products contain gluten and all of our products have been independently tested to be gluten free.

We love taking ours in water. Be sure to add the water to the glass first, before mixing in a spoonful of the powder. You can also add it to your favourite smoothie, fresh vegie juice, bliss ball or raw baking recipe. The key is not to heat it, as some of the nutrients are destroyed by heat.

All of our products have been crafted for optimal effectiveness and ingredient synergy, with specific outcomes for you in mind. Bio Blends is based on Dr Libby’s 14 years of study at university and 20 years of clinical experience. More ingredients do not necessarily mean that the product will be more effective. This is highly individual and varies depending on how your health is as you begin your health journey.

Calm Restore: The herbs in Calm Restore were carefully selected for their calming and restorative effects on the nervous system, which are often what people who have trouble relaxing and sleeping restoratively respond well to. The time it takes for you to notice improvements to your level of calm, sleep and general wellbeing will therefore depend on the state of your nervous system. Please note that this is not a sleeping pill and it won’t knock you out. Studies on some of the herbs in this product have shown that some people experience good results for improved sleep within two weeks of regular use, however they experienced even better results when the herbs were taken regularly for 4-6 months.

Cycle Essentials & Liver Love: We recommend taking these for at least 3-6 months initially, to allow your body time to respond. After this, be guided by how you feel or an experienced healthcare professional, as to whether you respond best when you take these continuously, at a reduced dose, or just during periods when you feel you need some additional support.

Meno Magic: We recommend taking Meno Magic for at least 3 months to allow your body time to respond, however often the benefits occur within weeks of regular use.

Organic Zinc Extract: To ensure your stores rebuild to sufficient levels, you might like to take this for at least 3 months. Or, if you find it difficult to consume adequate zinc through your food, you might like to supplement your dietary intake with 1 capsule every 1-2 days.

Skin Nutrition: For best results, we recommend taking Skin Nutrition for 2-3 months. Women who took this formulation for 8 weeks noticed an improvement in skin colour and texture, as well as a reduction in spots and dark circles.

No, we don’t recommend taking Meno Magic while taking tamoxifen.

If you have had an estrogen positive cancer, we do not recommend you take Meno Magic. Meno Magic contains black cohosh, a herb that is thought to have selective estrogen receptor modulation activity, with studies suggesting an estrogenic effect on bone but not on breast or endometrial tissues. It also contains shatavari, a herb that has shown some oestrogenic effects in animal studies. Research has demonstrated that black cohosh does not increase risk of breast cancer in women with or without a history of this. However, many practitioners choose not to use herbs that may have some estrogenic effects for patients who have had hormone-sensitive breast cancer, in case of altered risk and safety.

Black cohosh is a medicinal herb that has long history of use, both traditionally and quite widely in Western cultures since the early 1800s. In a few, very rare cases, it has been associated with liver problems. Globally, there have been at least 42 reported cases of liver damage in people who were taking or had taken this, however an assessment by the European Medicines Agency showed a possible or probable causality in only 4 out of these 42 cases and another review did not support causality. Other published studies have shown no clear causal relationship between the use of black cohosh and liver damage. With that said, until this potential link is either confirmed or refuted, we don’t recommend products containing black cohosh, including Meno Magic, for people with pre-existing liver disease or in combination with prescribed medications that could potentially harm the liver.

Symptoms of liver disease include yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes (jaundice), dark urine, nausea, vomiting, weakness, unusual tiredness, loss of appetite and abdominal pain. If you experience this, we advise to cease taking any products containing black cohosh and to consult with your doctor. If you experience this after or while taking Meno Magic, please also notify us immediately.

Opened products will not be accepted for return as a result of dissatisfaction with taste, dissatisfaction with product results, etc. Every individual has different perceptions of what is and isn’t palatable and is at different stages with their health. It can take up to three months for your body to adjust to the new nutrients it is receiving and during this time it can be common to experience changes to your body’s elimination pathways (such as diarrhoea (or constipation) and headaches) as your body uses the nutrients in Bio Blends to restore itself to optimal health.
